Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, an American and British sitarist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and also the first female recipient. In addition to receiving nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to be a presenter and performer at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young rising singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a student as well as daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. During during her early years, she swam in London New Delhi. At the age of 13, her first show in New Delhi took place. She graduated in 1999 from her high school education in Encinitas CA. Even though she's very young Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording. She performs regularly with her dad and has performed with him for many years. She released her first self-titled album Anourag in 1998. In 2002, she released her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. Stage performances are a large part of her career. She has performed in a variety of major venues all over the globe. Her career doesn't just include music. She released Bapi, the love of my life in 2002. The book is a biographical work that is a tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. In addition, she acted in a the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. She played a Bharat natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her professional career, and will surely be new things that will be coming from this amazing woman. Anoushka was raised in England, but spent most of her youth in between London in the UK and Delhi. Then she moved to California and went to high school there. From the age of nine she started studying music with her father making her performing debut on the sitar 4 years later, at his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of experience touring the world along with the father. She played at Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. Her artistry and musicianship were acknowledged by the British parliament as among the finest in Asian Arts.
